BLUE ROSE BAR
KARITSI SQUARE, ATHENS
With an art deco ’30s mood, the large oak bar with the carved geometric decoration runs through the elongated space towards the elegant wallpaper – characteristic of the era – at the rear of the bar. There, you can find a small seating area with a leather sofa. We specially designed the pendant and wall lights, exclusively for the space: opal balls are suspended from bronze frames in a variety of configurations composing polymorphic shapes. The large “blue roses” wallpaper inspired by patterns of Dutch ceramics of the 18th century, also known as Delft Blue, contrasts with the strict geometry of the wooden construction for the bar drinks. We stencil-painted the wooden floor into a black & white checkerboard, while 3 shades of blue dominates the space.
